Apogee Education

Apogee 307 LLC is an educational campus that decentralizes education by empowering families. We believe in connecting community, academics, real-world knowledge, and critical thinking skills to benefit young learners, families, and society as a whole.

What does this look like?

Learner-Focused Academia

Academics are important and used every day. We emphasize having a true understanding for foundational skills. Arithmetic and grammar are big part of this journey. Learners will have a range of academic platforms to choose from based on our suggestions, the family’s preferences, and the child’s needs. They will be exposed to one-on-one coaching, STEAM mini-collaborative projects, embedded Apogee hands-on curriculum, enrichment programs, and vetted online academic tailored platforms, and more. Online program examples: Khan Academy, IXL & IXL Workbooks, Splash Learn, and more. Essentially, we can take the results of the academic platforms and provide hands-on experiences to deep the learners understanding - every child will be on their own path and journey to success. It is our goal to encourage each child to harness their interests and strengths to create his/her own educational journey. Our coaches and mentors will help guide your child to create a path for the utmost success by giving a proper amount of guidance based on age and maturity. Parents are a part of the process and can advocate for a specific curriculum path.

Social Intelligences

Having a conversation while looking someone in the eye, opening the door for another person, offering your seat up to someone in need, and agreeing to disagree - these are all forgotten skills. Our approach to education will include these skills among many other things. It will address the social deficits our youth are faced with. Our mentors will help guide learners to live by a code while being mindful or appropriate social norms, common courtesies, and communication skills. We offer an Apogee-specific curriculum involving debates, conversations that stimulate critical thinking, social exercises, and appropriate rules for civil discourse. We will offer a program that is directly applicable the world they live.

Community Connection

How do we adequately prepare children for society if they have zero exposure? Simple, we can’t. It is doing them an injustice to not give them as many opportunities as possible to connect. Our vision is to utilize the children’s interests, strengths, and academic knowledge to further their growth. We will incorporate guest speakers, workshops, seminars, hands-on explorations, field trips, Project-Based Learning, gratitude projects and more. They will also partake in giving back to the community - we value selflessness. Things like volunteer work and fundraising will be completed.

Physical Education

There are so many benefits that can be linked to being physically active. Kids need to move. We will offer children with experiences to be active every day. This will look like guest trainers, yoga instruction, outside explorations, swimming, climbing, teamwork building activities, health units, rough and tumble play, risk-taking, martial arts, Physiology First lessons, American Coaching Academy curriculum, and more.

Free Play & Exploration

Learning the art of empathy does not come from a textbook, it comes from authentic experiences. The best way for children to understand their world is to explore it. This means trial and error, this means success, and it also means failure. We celebrate failures. We don’t want children to be so scared of failure that they fail to try. Play is vital for confidence building, curiosity, and human development in all areas: social, emotional, physical, and academic growth. Expect: Open-ended explorations, STEAM inquiries, field trips, role-play, and learner-driven experiments, are just the beginning of what kids might partake in. Some supporting resources:

Classical+ Enrichment

We still want to give kids the opportunity to engage in components of a classical educations and then some. For this dedicated time, learners will be given the opportunity to practice one or all of these focuses: cursive, memorize recitations, read meaningful texts, create projects to express historical events and documents. practice foreign languages, research philosophers, partake in apologetic studies and Bible lessons, draw or craft reflections on ethics, study music and classical composers, astronomy, etc.
